J9 - Jogging
Jogging in your pairs, think
of a girl’s name beginning
with the letter “a” then “b” and
continue through all the letters in
the alphabet. Try the same with
the boy’s names.

A11 - Aerobic
LETTERS AND LEGS
Run in and out of each other all over the playgroup avoiding contact.
The teacher calls out a letter of the alphabet – if that letter is in your
name – keep running. The teacher keeps changing the letter. Start
simply and only apply the game to first names. (As the children become
better it could also include their surnames)
To make this move more complex. The mode of travelling could also
change.

S38 - Reach, Swing and Jog
This is a set-pattern warm-up:-
- Stretch upwards with feet shoulder-width apart.
- Reach towards the ceiling with alternate arms (as if climbing)
and at the same time transfer weight from right foot to left
and repeat. The arm moves at the same time as the foot so
that at each side there will be a stretching feeling through one
side of the body (8 beats).
- At the end of 8 counts, relax the arms and let them loosely swing
backwards and forwards for 8 counts.
- Jog to another space for a count of 2 x 8 beats and repeat the
whole phase.

MFA48 - Stuck in the Mud (With throw release)
Two children are catchers and one child is the releaser. The releaser
holds a ball. On a signal, the catchers attempt to touch as many children
as possible. When touched, they stand still with their hands high in the
air. They can be released by receiving the ball. They in turn release
someone else by passing the ball before running free.
